The organisation of the innovation-event StartupDelta Summit, taking place the 19th of April 2018 in Arnhem, expects more than 2000 visistors. Says commercial director Jurgen Nieuwenhuijsen from the organizing party Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship (ECE). The StartupDelta Summit takes place at the Industrial Park the Kleefse Waard (IPKW).
“It’s alive and there is a lot of enthusiasm”, says Nieuwenhuijsen. “At the moment there are 1.000 registered visitors, but experience shows that registrations grow exponentially in the last weeks and even days. Most of those people know they are present and only need to register.”
The 19th of April 2018 the dutch province Gelderland is the epicenter for everyone who works on the future of the Netherlands, according to the website of the organization of the StartupDelta Summit. A future in which many innovations of the Netherlands are enjoying a fertile fundament. We make tangible, sensible and visible how we build the future of the Netherlands and make sure that visitors leave with new connections to work with.
Nieuwenhuijsen: “It takes place in the dutch province Gelderland, but visitors come from anywhere in the Netherlands. From all cities, regions and with a large span in ages. It is a truly deverse network: from CEO’s to teachers and students. All with the same goal: how to make the Netherlands more competitive and attract more startups.”‘
Although visitors might get inspiration, this is not the main goal, says Nieuwenhuijsen. “We roll up our sleeves and contribute. This, among other activities, takes place through different strategic sessions you can sign up for. There are 5 main topics: capital, talent, network, expertise and market. The aim is that you go home with action points and an enlarged network that can help you to take steps forward. If for example, as a university, you want to become more entrepreneurial, you get in touch with experts who are able to support you.”
The strategic sessions are one part of the three main activities of the StartupDelta Summit. Further there is the so called “ecosysteemplein” (ecosystem square) where visitors get in touch with each other with the help of round tables, theme cafés and many other interactive ways.
Besides, there is a mains stage where various speakers encounter the question how the Netherlands will take the lead compared to other nations considering the startup ecosystem. One of the speakers is the dutch Prince Constantijn van Oranje, ambassador of StartupDelta. This organization actively works on the convenience and accessability of entrepreneurial tools to enable them to start and grow fast.
The organization of the Summit asks all visitors about their whereabouts in the ecosystem of startups. “By taking this approach, you can not only view where your visitors come from, but also what they are contributing to.”
